Berlin, February 9, 2012. Under the motto “Think global, hack local”, more than 30 Android user groups have already registered for the first Global Android Dev Camp. Android developers from all over the world have agreed to hack at the same time. They are willing to create new Android apps as well as optimizing existing ones during the weekend of February 17 to 19, 2012.

There will be video conferences between the different cities as the knowledge exchange and networking is the main purpose of the event. Local and global sponsors offer prizes to encourage the developers to create great apps. The award ceremony for the global category will be hold during the Android conference Droidcon in Berlin, Germany on March 13, 2012.

The “Global Android Dev Camp” is a collection of events organized independently by local Android user groups. The collaboration between the groups is coordinated by a team of develoeprs from Berlin, Germany. The official site http://android-dev-camp-2012.blogspot.com/ shows the current list of registered user groups. All interested Android developers are called to register with their local user groups.
